Aspen Tech Policy Hub is a West Coast policy incubator, training a new generation of tech policy entrepreneurs to develop outside-the-box solutions to society’s problems.

Play a critical role in securing our nation in the areas of counterterrorism, border security, immigration, and preparedness, response, and recovery by becoming a leader in Homeland Security’s Senior Executive Service (SES) civilian workforce.


The Tech Executive Leadership Initiative (TELI)

A remote, part-time, unpaid 10-week skills-building initiative to prepare experienced technology leaders to engage effectively with public sector challenges. This program is ideal for senior executives who are interested in future federal government service or in otherwise honing their skills to engage more effectively with governments. The program is mainly online, but may include a weekend immersion retreat if one can safely be held. TELI is a collaboration of the Aspen Tech Policy Hub, Project Redesign, and the Tech Talent Project.

Presidential Innovation Fellows

PIF is a fellowship that unites industry’s brightest technologists with forward-thinking federal leaders to improve how government builds, designs and delivers services for everyone in our country.

Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) pairs the innovation economy’s technologists, designers, and strategists with top changemakers in the federal government to build human-centered solutions at scale to better serve, protect, and empower everyone in this country. Fellows are at the table and on the ground, improving data sharing across the healthcare ecosystem, combating climate change using AI, supporting veterans through mobile technology, and more.

Location: Washington D.C.

Salary: $142,701

Applications open winter - early spring of each calendar year with cohorts typically starting in October.

CONGRESSIONAL INNOVATION FELLOWSHIP

TechCongress gives talented technologists the opportunity to gain first-­hand experience in federal policymaking and shape the future of tech policy through fellowships with Members of Congress and Congressional Committees.

Fellows are placed among the top tech decision makers in the United States government to make change at the highest levels and at a scale unparalleled in the private or public sectors. Fellows are trained to become cross-sector leaders who can understand the challenges of government and in the technology community and keep Congress up to date about the latest challenges and opportunities relating to technology.

Salary: $85,000/year stipend

Location: Washington, DC

Fellows are selected from nominations.

Tech Talent Project

Tech Talent Project works to increase the ability of the U.S. government to recruit modern technical leaders in order to achieve critical economic, policy, and human outcomes.

Technologists for the Public Good

Technologists for the Public Good is a professional association powering the people who are reimagining how the government serves the public.

Our professional association offers you connections with other technologists in your community and across the nation. You are joining a network of human-centered designers, software engineers, data scientists, product managers, procurement experts, policy analysts, and others that are as passionate as you about creating a government that works for the public.

U.S. Digital Response

U.S. Digital Response is a nonprofit that places experienced, pro-bono technologists to work with government and organizations responding to moments of crisis, to quickly deliver critical services and infrastructure that support the needs of the public.

United States Digital Service

The U.S. Digital Service is a group of technologists from diverse backgrounds working across the federal government to transform critical, public-facing digital services for the people.

USDS focuses on hiring technical experts who can adapt to a project’s needs and also hires specialists for particular projects.

Location: Need to live in Washington, D.C. or surrounding area during the work week. No relocation package offered.

Salary: under $100,000-around $170,000.
